19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE FRAMED COLORED LITHOGRAPH "THE TRIAL OF EFFIE DEANS"
We're pleased to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique Victorian colored lithograph titled "The Trial of Effie Deans". This lithograph was published by Frederick Bromley after famous art work by Robert Scott Lauder. The scene is based upon Walter Scott's novel, "The Heart Of Midlothian". The story was very popular in the Victorian era and was commonly a subject of plays & art found in homes. Effie Deans is accused of killing her child and sent to a prison in Midlothian county. The print is in a nice walnut frame with ebony & gilt trim. The print is in excellent condition & measures 31 1/4" wide x 22 1/4" tall with a sight size of 26" wide x 17" tall.
