19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE CHIPPENDALE STYLE 1 DRAWER WALNUT HIGHLY CARVED CONSOLE TABLE
We're delighted to offer for sale this fantastic late 19th/ early 20th century antique Chippendale style walnut console table. Console tables like this are very rare and seldom come to market especially on this tier. This table has a wonderful serpentine form with a shaped top with pronounced turret corners. The table is crafted from walnut with the best cuts reserved for the top. The top of the table features 4 panels of bold bookmatched burled walnut veneers with a cross banded walnut border. The serpentine body is well formed with good proportions with a highly carved skirt. There are so many beautiful carving patterns along this table. The center apron is shell carved with superbly executed acanthus carvings that flow and transition beautifully. There's a few cute bell flower carvings & light bead work present as well. The table stands tall on graceful cabriole legs, again highly carved at the knee and terminating in wonderfully formed ball & claw feet. The table is in fantastic condition with our only condition notes being a missing escutcheon plate on the drawer, & a small finish loss on the front right edge. The escutcheon plate can be easily replaced & we'll have our master restorer touch in that little spot. Ideally we'd like to have every little thing addressed before offering it to our clients but we're moving so fast with so much fresh inventory we're just trying to get everything online. The table measures 42" wide x 18" deep x 29 3/4" tall.
