With our highest compliments and honors we're extremely proud to offer for sale this exceptional 19th century antique Victorian Renaissance revival walnut & marble hall tree. Thomas brooks was a prolific institutional level cabinet maker practicing in New York city at the height of the revival period. Brooks furniture continues to be one of the most collectible fields of American cabinetry. The Victorian period is considered the longest lasting style with rough dates of about 1840-1900. The Victorian period featured a number of revival periods such as Gothic, Rococo, renaissance, & neoclassical to name a few. It was a wonderful period of rediscovery in an advanced era.
This bookcase is off the charts crafted from select cuts of walnut & burled walnut panels coming together for a pleasing visual effect. There are three cabinet sections and three base drawers all actuate smoothly as intended. The side sections are fitted with two shelves & the middle section has 3 shelves.
