19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE FEDERAL PERIOD REVERSE PAINTED GLASS GILT MIRROR
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
We're delighted to offer for sale this wonderful 19th century antique reverse painted glass gilt mirror. We're quite selective with our mirrors and can proudly say this is one of our favorite in this style we've encountered in some time. From a lovely Marblehead estate this mirror is in exceptional condition with the original artist signed painted tablet . The signuature can be found in the lower right hand corner by the animals. The scene depicts an adult & child walking towards a Federal style home in an area dense with vegitation, a stone bridge over a waterway, and animals on the estate. The tablet is surrounded by a black border with red, green, & gold floral accents. The mirror features convex columns with turned half balusters. Each corner is decorated with a molded floral gesso rosette in fantastic condition. The mirror measures 16 3/4" wide x 33" tall x 2" deep.
