1930's BENNETT HIGHBOY OIL LUBE DISPENSER MUSKEGUN MICHIGAN - RARE PETROLIANA
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. Bennet Pump Company was founded in 1919 by Thomas Bennett offering hand cranked barrel pumps. Bennett continued to make advances in the petroleum industry offering industrial tools such as highboy "lubesters" such as this and various electric driven gas pumps. The skilled metal fabricators even crafted metal goods and machine guns for the US army during WWII. The company evolved with advances in technology and continue to design and supply gas pumps we use every day across the United States. This highboy is production model 307. The original catalogues are available across public domain and helped us date this example. The earliest offerings for model 307 we located was in 1931.
This pump is in excellent condition with it's original hot rod red paint. The hinged lid opens to reveal a grated tray for lubing small parts and recycling overflow. The front retains a very old Penzoil advert, an early American Petroleum corporation. This rare pump is sure to make a great addition to any petroliana / Americana / advertising collection. The Highboy pump is 10" wide x 23" deep x 50" tall. The height at the work surface is 32" tall.
