18TH CENTURY ROCOCO CONTINENTAL PARCEL GILT MAHOGANY MIRROR
18TH CENTURY ROCOCO CONTINENTAL PARCEL GILT MAHOGANY MIRROR
We are delighted to offer you this rare and very unique and large 18th century Continental Rococo wall mirror. The mirror measures 50" tall & 25" in width. It possesses powerfully executed gold parcel giltwood and lemon washed embellishments of a Grecian urn with Cherub in its top center crest, right and left flanked flowing wreaths with a center Grotesque character and further bellflower garland wreaths on its base. It has floral rosettes all around its frame and is a stunning beautiful decorators piece. We note some small amounts of gilt loss and some gesso separation in small sections of its decorative mounts. We make no apology or excuses for this 200 plus year old, period mirror. It is our policy to make you aware of anything that comes to our attention no matter how insignificant the issue is. The mirror is all correct, a very special piece and original right down to its original back panel planks.
