Uniquely different from Federal & Chippendale tiger maple desks this Queen Anne predating desk is defined by excellent condition, no restorations, original brasses, a nicely hand dovetailed joined case complimented by dovetailed transitions. Its construction is from the most select cuts of bold grained tiger maple with graduated thumb nail molded drawer facings, a well defined interior with flanked by loafer lid supports, standing on attached frame and bracket feet. We simply do don't buy these with any lid rips out or the typical abuse issues of a period tiger maple desk that has been roughly treated and bounced around the weekly auction circuit or sold in a Western Massachusetts field. We simply pay more to get better for America's most astute collectors. This is our business model.
