18TH CENTURY INLAID MAHOGANY MASSACHUSETTS HEPPLEWHITE GAME TABLE-FINEST ITEM!
Bay Colony Antiques take the most exceptional honor in offering you this extremely fine and important late 18th Century South Shore Massachusetts mahogany Hepplewhite games table with large oval inlaid sycamore panels along with decorative inlays of ebony, maple, satinwood and rosewood. It possesses a D shaped top with well defined ovolo corners and pronounced front crotched mahogany frieze, hinged rear swing out leg, flip open top and gracefully tapered legs with inlaid cuffs. Its additional inlays are in bellflower motifs accented with string inlays & graduated ebony inlaid dots. This games table is fantastic with large ancient untouched white pine secondary woods fastened with rose head nails. The tables box is entirely dovetailed joined on each right and left ends. We note a very slight warp to the left side of its top, a tiny very high quality professional restoration employing a splice on one of the table's top pocket hinges. The table's first finish is still present but emulsified and highly polished by our professional resources. All of which we make no apology of excuse for. This important table is structurally pure. None of the tops fastening screws have ever been removed and its top has never been off the table absolutely guaranteeing its original to the tables base frame. It is 35 1/4" long, 17 1/4" wide, 28 1/2" tall and 34 1/4" when opened in its games position. We note these are inferior photos and will update this very shortly.
