We are pleased to offer you this wonderful 18th century Federal period maple cannonball bed. This bed started its life as a rope foundation bed, but was converted to accept framed bedding in the late 19th century. With a custom made rabbit edge box spring foundation it will now accept full sized bedding. The bed has a very nicely scrolled headboard and finely turned posts starting as cannonballs and terminating into vasal button feet. The side rails are fastened by bed bolts. The bed stands 46" tall, 48 1/4" wide and 84" long. Its interior measurements are 44 1/2" wide & 76" long with the rails sitting 15 1/4" off the ground.
