Bay Colony Antiques takes the highest honor in offering you this important 18th Century Chippendale mahogany tip top Kettle Stand from the American Mid Atlantic region. Its attribution is solidly from the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia Circa 1780's. Its top is sculpted with a scalloped dish edge top with an vasal turned pedestal flowing into its snaked legged tripod base with highly formed legs terminating into a show padded foot. It has its original English imported crab lock with no breaks or repairs other then we are sure by the evidence of 19th century tool marks of it having later 19th century tilter arms. Its solid top possesses excellent figuring approaching a Plum Pudding tier of mahogany. This is a very special & rare 18th Century specimen of the kettle stand of the Mid Atlantic. Its top is 19 1/2" and it stands 26 1/2" tall.
