IMPORTANT 18TH CENTURY CHIPPENDALE CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY CHIPPENDALE SHAPED TOPPED LATTICE CARVED X STRETCHER BASED PEMBROKE TABLE
Bay Colony Antiques is honored to offer you this exceptional 18th century mahogany Chippendale period shaped top Pembroke table with highly formed pierced carved cross X stretcher base. We attribute this to the work shop for Eliphilet Chapin of the Connecticut River Valley Connecticut. One of America's most important influences on the disciplines of American period furniture. It possesses a very telling tale of chestnut secondary woods, original brasses, an interestingly and identifiable saw toothed base center canister meeting at center point for the stretcher. The stretchers have wonderful pierced carved lattice forms. It has a pegged fastened top, carved and molded Marlborough tapered lags. We note an old seasoning split on its top and a minor restoration to the base stretchers in one very small area for which we make no apology or excuses for. We simply live by a full disclose of condition policy. We encounter new clients often who don't know us yet and we strive to earn your trust.
