Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
We're delighted to offer for sale this wonderful 18th century antique Queen Anne tiger maple tilt top table. Tilt top tables we're a hot, novel commodity in 18th century homes and owning one was an indication of wealth & importance. The table is defined by a nicely turned maple pedestal with finely formed snake legs with a dramatic slender ankle with saw tooth carvings along the base. The base has been reinforced with an iron spider & at some point in the table's life the crab lock was removed and replaced with a wood block to lock the table when the top is folded down. The table measures 32" wide x 44" tall when flipped up and 26 1/2" tall when flipped down.
