Bay Colony Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this fantastic 18th century antique Tiger Maple Queen Anne ladder back rocking chair. The chair is crafted from highly figured Tiger Maple with the grain running horizontal on the vertical surfaces and vertical grain on the horizontal surfaces. The rocker blades have been replaced but that’s pretty common and standard maintenance after ~250 years. The chair has fantastic rolled lollipop arms and the splint seat is in great condition. We have this advertised as a New England chair but strongly believe this was made in New Hampshire. The chair measures 22” wide x 26” deep x 39 1/2” tall with a seat height of 15”.
