18TH CENTURY ANTIQUE NEW ENGLAND PUMPKIN PINE CHIPPENDALE BLANKET BOX
It's our utmost pleasure to offer for sale this wonderful 18th century antique New England pumpkin pine blanket box. From an upstate Vermont estate this box is in fantastic condition. The box is crafted from old growth New England Pine and retains it's original strap hinges & brass hardware. The upper section of the box retains it's original lock and hasp and has a lift top candle till inside the box. The two lower drawers feature all hand cut dovetail construction with hand chamfered bottoms & decorative brass escutcheon plates. One lock is missing from the chest on the upper drawer. The box stands tall on bracket feet with nice cut out sides. When old iron nails have been in place this long black oxidation marks can be seen around the nail heads. The chest exhibits wonderful proportions measuring 42 1/4" wide x 19 1/4" deep x 40" tall.
