Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer for sale this wonderful late 18th / early 19th century antique Queen Anne pine tavern table. The table has large half moon cut outs at each side and has a lift top storage compartment in the seat. The table is craft from old growth pine that has taken on a nice patina over the years and is commonly referred to as pumpkin pine. With two of the pegs installed the top can swivel up and down to save room when the table is not in use. It’s important to remember these were made for much smaller homes and a convertible dining table like this was an innovative design for an 18th century home. The table is in great condition with our only notes being minimal surface wear. With the top flipped up the table measures 41 3/4” wide x 18” deep x 44” tall. When the table top is flipped down the table measures 41 3/4” wide x 26” deep x 29” tall.
