Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this wonderful 18th century antique Queen Anne Maple & Ash ladder back chair. As is the case with most of these, the chair has been slightly shortened but thankfully hasn’t been structurally altered. The chair has a 3 slat back with pretty dramatic curves that can be best seen in the side profiles. The rear stiles have bulbous turnings & elongated finials. The original scribe marks can still be seen throughout the chair. The chair has a very old, possibly original splint seat that is in remarkable condition. The front right leg has a subtle crook to it which doesn’t affect the use of the chair but we wanted to point it out because we thought it added a bit of character & whimsy to the piece. The chair measures 19 1/2” wide x 14 1/2” deep x 37 1/8” tall with a seat height of 14” tall.
