Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer for sale this wonderful 18th century antique Queen Anne ladder back chair. The chair has a 3 splat back with carved finials turned from the same piece of wood as the stiles which is a common characteristic of 18th century chairs. The front stretchers are also slightly worn down from centuries of continued use which we like to see on period chairs. The chair has been slightly ended out over the years but that’s pretty much commonplace for almost every 18th century chair we’ve encountered lately. These chairs are often used as decorative accents in homes and can add a touch of rustic charm to any room. The splint seat is in good condition with only a couple of minor splits, but nothing that would impede its use. The chair measures 18” wide x 14” deep x 36 3/8” tall with a 14 1/2” seat height.
