Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this wonderful 18th century antique Queen Anne Cherry candle stand. The top showcases a beautiful piece of figured Cherry with ovolo corners. The column is well executed with a finely turned urn near the base & a couple of ringlet turnings above. The table rests on 3 snake legs that are completely free of any breaks or repairs. The legs are dovetailed into the column and were further strengthened with a metal spider underneath the base. There is some faint pencil script underneath the top about the history of ownership. It’s hard to read but appears to say “bought off Russell ______ July __ 1935? Property of ________”. The stand is in very good condition with our only notes being minor surface wear, and a slight warp to the top. The stand measures 18” wide x 17 5/8 deep x 27” tall.
