Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this vintage carved & painted shorebird decoy. We’re not certain which species this is but it looks like a mourning dove to us. The bird has a blue band on the head with a reddish pink underbelly with brown & white plumage. The bird has a short bill and is mounted on a stand. The decoy is signed HJ Mackenzie Cape Cod under the stand and was probably made in the 70’s or 80’s. The decoy measures 6 3/4” wide from bill to tail x 2” deep x 9” tall on the stand. The mounting block measures 5” wide x 2 3/4” deep x 2” tall.
