Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique Sheraton gold gilt mirror with reverse painted panel. We’ve been selling a lot of these Federal period mirrors and have been eager to restock but we will never settle on quality and only desire to offer better - best examples for our clients around the US. The mirror retains its original reverse painted panel featuring a sweet still life painting of a colorful bowl of fruit with a charming green & red sponge decorated border and gold fruit at each corner. The mirror has embossed rosettes at each corner and half columns at the edge of the frame. The long portions of the columns & the border closest to the glass have a rare sand painted coating that gives the gold more depth and create a nice visual effect. The mirror measures 16 1/4” wide x 2” deep x 32” tall. The reverse painted panel measures 10” wide x 8 1/2” tall. The mirror measures 10” wide x 16 1/2”.
