Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique Federal period gold tabernacle mirror. The mirror has an eglomise panel depicting a father and son fishing surrounded by a dandelion yellow field & gold painted conch shells at each corner. The mirror has a well defined cornice and the vertical stiles have half columns with ringlet turnings. The gilt painted surface appears to be original and still retains a good amount of natural luster despite its age. The mirror glass has a few areas with light silvering loss but nothing that would obstruct use. The mirror is a good size measuring 20 1/4” wide x 34 1/4” tall x 4” deep. The glass alone measures 12 1/2” wide x 21 1/2” tall.
