Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this exceptional queen size mahogany four post tester bed by Henkel Harris. Henkel Harris continues to produce some of the finest home furnishings with exquisite attention to detail of timeless antique designs. The partnership began in 1940's between the Henkel family and John Harris. The unlikely trio was rather inexperienced in cabinet making but spent countless hours studying antiques they coveted so highly. They paid particular mind to the way these timeless treasures were crafted and finished and sought out to recreate the quality of Americas golden age of cabinetry. This is one of Henkel Harris’ most desirable beds and is complete with its original tester frame and finials. We love the carved plantation beds with rice and tobacco carvings but they can be overpowering in certain rooms where this bed has more delicate proportions and the posts are more graceful and lighter in scale. The bed is in wonderful condition with our only notes being very minimal surface wear. The bed can be completely disassembled into individual components which make this easy to transport should you ever need to move it. The bed interior measures 61” wide x 82” long which would accept queen bedding. The bed measures 65 3/4” wide x 88 1/2” deep x 86 1/2” tall.
