Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.

With our highest compliments we're proud to offer for sale this exceptional 8 drawer mahogany chest on chest. Henkel Harris continues to produce some of the finest home furnishings with exquisite attention to detail of timeless antique designs. The partnership began in 1940's between the Henkel family and John Harris. The unlikely trio was rather inexperienced in cabinet making but spent countless hours studying antiques they coveted so highly. They paid particular mind to the way these timeless treasures were crafted and finished and sought out to recreate the quality of Americas golden age of cabinetry. The name has become synonymous with quality and tradition. Henkel Harris furniture cost an exorbitant amount new from the showroom, this chest is in excellent condition and available for a fraction of it's original price.

This gorgeous chest on chest is crafted from select cuts of African & South American mahogany with exceptional usage of grain on the faces. The chest is signed style number 119 and finish number 29 on the paper tag on the back. The chest employs a two split drawer over 3 standard drawer upper format with a bottom format of one smaller drawer over two over sized. Every drawer face is nicely molded creating a visual effect that draws your attention to the mahogany grain. The chest has 14 heavy cast high quality brasses with stamped back plates. The chest is molded at the base and transition to a nicely formed bracket base with pleasing scrolling profiles. The dresser is further accented with a sophisticated mid molding and a molded edge on the mahogany top. We've been over the chest extensively and note a small restoration to one rear bracket foot that is nearly invisible. The chest measures 37 1/4" wide x 21" deep x 55" tall.
