With our highest compliments we're proud to offer for sale this exceptional 9+ feet mahogany double pedestal dining table by Henkel Harris. Henkel Harris continues to produce some of the finest home furnishings with exquisite attention to detail of timeless antique designs. The partnership began in 1940's between the Henkel family and John Harris. The unlikely trio was rather inexperienced in cabinet making but spent countless hours studying antiques they coveted so highly. They paid particular mind to the way these timeless treasures were crafted and finished and sought out to recreate the quality of Americas golden age of cabinetry. Henkel Harris furniture cost an exorbitant amount new from the showroom, this table is in excellent condition and available for a fraction of it's original price. This table stands on two wonderfully formed snake leg pedestals decorated with crisp ringlet turnings and terminating in pad feet. This table is crafted from select cuts of African & South American mahogany. Those who follow us know we generally deal in 18th & 19th century furniture so we're no stranger to attractive cuts of mahogany. This example has a wonderful oil density and grain giving an attractive glow and pleasing visual effect. The table has 4 12" leaves with it expanding to 113 1/2" long when fully opened. When the table is closed it measures 66" long x 48" wide x 30 3/4" tall.
This set comes with 10 beautiful Queen Anne antique style mahogany chairs. The set has two arm chairs and 8 side chairs. The table is large enough to accommodate these 10 chairs comfortably. The chairs have a wonderful design with fantastic vasiform splats with excellent use of the negative space. The stiles are shaped and transition into a rolled crest. This set has green fabric seats with an allover embroidered design that can be seen through the zoom browser. The seats boxes have a simple yet elegant cut out profile with a molded seat box. We've attached a picture of the cloth label on the mahogany table and the paper label on the chairs. The chairs are style 110 S with finish number 29. The arm chair measures 26" wide x 24" deep x 39" tall with a seat height of 19". The side chairs are 23" wide x 23" deep x 38 1/2" tall with a seat height of 18 1/2".
