We're delighted to offer for sale this wonderful 20th century Swiss made classic French Jullian design Boite Chevalet or Box Easel. Patented in the 19th century the French design Jullian easel remains at the top of the list for landscape painting. The legs fold out and telescope on a wingnut system to adjust the height. The stretcher holder can adjust to different angles and heights to accommodate all sizes of canvas. For a portable box easel the center drawer is a good size capable of holding brushes pigments etc when one is painting landscapes on the go. This came to us with a painted folk art bird from the previous owner we wish to keep with it and is included with the listing. All the mechanism actuate with ease and hold tight. The case has a leather carrying strap and is branded INNOVA BOITE CHEVALET. This design is still sold today as the premiere travelling easel. Our clients don't want the new plywood Jullian easels on amazon that break when you look at them wrong.
